Electrical Project Manager

Salary: Approx $7,000 per month + Bonus Approx $8,000 per annum
Leave: 63 Days annual leave with 3 flights home per year

Team Objective:
To inspect all existing Client sites and to undertake corrective electrical remedial works as required to ensure all installations are safe for occupation and use.
Primary Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage a team of Afghanistan based ATEX Electrical Inspectors, Certified Electricians and Electricians on a companywide electrical remediation project.

Main Internal Relationship: All Clients BU’s Managers, Site Managers, Operations Managers, General Manager Construction, Construction Project Managers, Construction Managers
Main External Relationship: Electrical supplier, Subcontractors
Key Position Accountabilities:
Responsible for the overseeing and managing of a team of ATEX Electrical Inspectors, Certified Electricians and other Electricians to inspect, test and undertake electrical remedial works on existing installations at all our Clients sites in accordance with United Kingdom / European and United States electrical standards.
Required to provide technical support to projects, commissioning, operating procedures, troubleshooting and test running of electrical installations and equipment.
You will be required to oversee and manage the installation and operation of the following: electrical cables, wiring, electrical utility equipment, distribution lines, lighting, switching, Fire Alarm Systems, Air conditioning units, Generators, power distribution, breaker panels, electrical distribution systems, earthing systems, lightning installations and all other specialist electrical installations at the Clients sites.
Responsible for the electrical testing, inspecting, certifying and reporting on all electrical installations on all the Clients sites.
Responsible for ensuring any electrical remedial works undertaken are of the correct specification and quality with all works to be completed to the appropriate standards and in accordance with the applicable electrical standards.
Responsible for ensuring all electrical tools, equipment and personal protective equipment PPE are provided to team members and that staff maintain and adhere to the highest Health and Safety standards and electrical safety procedures.
The work will involve a large degree of responsibility with considerable independent judgment required for more routine tasks, however you will be required to work a variety of hours to inspect and if required repair urgent electrical outages, power back ups and other emergency situations to ensure the proper and continued functioning of any electrical systems.
Responsible for the formulation of written reports on each of the sites outlining the extent of substandard electrical work, daily progress reports once remedial works commence, and detailed completion report once works are finished and shall be used as a bench mark to track and monitor any ongoing electrical works.
Prepare test procedures and protocols and set appropriate standards to oversee all necessary commissioning and preparation work of electrical installations including pre-commissioning activities, attending reviews for commissioning and preparation for start-up requirements.
Provide technical support to projects on commissioning, operating procedures and troubleshooting for the testing of all electrical circuits and equipments ensuring normal operating parameters.
Monitor the ongoing PAT Testing program throughout the company through the appointed managers at each of the sites.
In line with the above commissioning testing and inspecting procedures you shall exercise the highest safety regulations pertaining to the electrical construction industry ensuring that Tool Box Talks (TBT), Total Safety Total Instruction (TSTI’s) and Lock-out Tag-out are enforced at all sites.
Ensure all staff are suitably trained in the knowledge of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and other lifesaving techniques.
Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with a proactive attitude and a willingness to get the job done (often under very difficult work conditions).
Possess an International drivers license.
Ensure that the correct signage is displayed on all electrical installations and equipment at all sites.

Size of Team - 41 pax. (incl. Electrical PM)
Direct Reports - 20 pax.
Indirect Reports - 40 pax.
Total Number of Employees in BU - 112 pax. in the Company (incl. this 41)
Nature & Value of Financial Accountabilities - cannot be quantified accurately at this stage but it will be significant in hundreds of thousands of dollars
Selection Criteria
Essential:
Possess the UK 17th Edition Electrical certification.
Possess the City and Guilds 2391 certification.
Possess the CompEx Certification.
Be highly conversant with the UK electrical installation standards.
Have between 5 to 10 years experience of managing teams of Electricians.
Must be able to communicate articulately both verbally and in written form.
Willingness to undertake a considerable amount of travel to all Client sites.
Must be willing to work and travel to sites where conditions may be harsh and at times may be hazardous.
Have a strong management style.
Must have the ability to undertake actual electrical works if necessary.
Desirable:
Bachelors Degree in Management.
Previous experience of working to the United States of America electrical installation standards.
Previous experience in the training of personnel in Health and Safety standards.
Successfully completed the PAT Testing training course.
