| Defence Services Project Quality Manager
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 P/A (Dependant on experience)
Location: Surrey
Job Overview
The position reports to the International Government & Defence Quality Manager within Defence Services and is based in Surrey with business trips to Military Operational Areas (Afghanistan & Iraq) and to military bases in the UK.
Duties and Responsibilities
To develop and maintain the Quality Plan for the project(s) to ensure all relevant aspects of quality are adequately identified, sufficiently detailed and controlled.
To assist with the development and maintenance of the project management system.
To develop and implement the project quality audit programme and monitor all corrective actions to effective and timely close out
To act as adviser and mentor on quality matters to project managers giving quality support where required
To manage quality control (QC) on projects and subcontractors including identifying the need for QC, planning, supervision of QC activity, maintenance of QC records and coordination of QC staff.
To provide quality training, including induction, to staff
To encourage and facilitate quality improvements across projects including, lessons learned, customer feedback and measurement and analysis of process and performance effectiveness.
To develop customer / client feedback and liaise with client Quality Representative(s) and other partner or subcontractor representatives as a means of quality improvement and to comply with global requirements.
To undertake any corporate activities and support projects and the bidding process as instructed by the International Government & Defence Quality Manager
To produce reports on quality activities to the Project Manager, client and International Government & Defence Quality Manager as relevant / required.
To liaise with client Quality Representative(s) and other partner or subcontractor representatives as required.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
5 - 10 years experience in Quality management eg auditing, process development, quality improvement.
At least 5 years in Construction/Engineering or related industry
IRCA qualified Lead Assessor 9001:2008
Educated to degree level

The incumbent will ideally be a UK National (or have UK residence status and at least 5 years residence in the UK) and hold an appropriate quality assurance and quality control qualification with a proven track record quality management. Applicants educated to degree level or chartered quality status and are registered lead auditors are encouraged to apply.
