Cost Engineer Specialist- Project Controls Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 P/A (Dependant on experience) Location: Surrey Our client is one of the world’s leading engineering, construction and procurement companies, providing professional services to the petrochemical, nuclear, defence, energy utilities and transportation industries. The organisation has more than 60,000 people in 49 countries, primarily providing major project and programme management services supported by engineering, construction and operations. Job Overview Responsible to the Project Controls Manager for controlling and reporting costs on a major overseas service provision project. Position based in Surrey with potential travel in areas under military control (Afghanistan). The successful candidate will have a Cost Engineer background and be experienced in cost controlling service provision projects. Specific Duties Adaptation of existing procedures to suit project specific requirements Development and maintenance of the work breakdown structure Preparation of control budget from the “as-sold” estimate Cost estimating and building up of cost models for variations Ensuring that the variation process is accurately followed Update the computerized cost control system with all budgets, variations, commitments, actuals and forecast data Prepare cost comparison reports Preparation of projected cost and schedule forecasts Analyze and trend cost data Prepare reports within time deadlines Liaise with planning, financial, procurement groups in the Home office to ensure full control Emphasis on accurate forecasting and working closely with project manager to highlight project variances promptly Attributes Team player and team builder Proactive and enthusiastic Customer focused Good communicator Strong analytical and interpretation skills Proven track record of driving continuous improvement Computer literate / strong Excel skills SAP knowledge Commercially aware Interested?
