Location:     Falkland Islands

Rates: £20.00 to £26.00 p/h (dependant on relevant experiences and   qualifications)

Duration:  A temporary contract, expected to run from October  2009, and complete in April 2010.

Our client is a large international and major construction organisation here in the UK currently with a long term a full infrastructure provider contract partnering with the Defence Estates (DE) / Ministry of Defence (MoD)

You will be required to manage complex  New Build & Construction of Water Treatment Works / Plants (valued  up to £3 Million Pounds) within the Falkland Islands working as part of their Consulting team delivering defence projects as part of their contract.

Ideally you will have heavy civil engineering / large scale construction project experiences on Defence contracts.

You will manage teams of consultants and contractors through mobilisation, delivery and beyond to achieve successful outcomes for our client. You will be required forge and manage close client relationships to ensure long term mutually beneficial outcomes. You will be required to manage other small contracts as required.

Key Tasks for this position are follows:

To successfully manage and deliver projects.

To manage external consultant teams.

To administer contracts.

To adhere to company and MOD/DE policies and procedures.

To represent the Consulting team and delivering projects as part of the company Defence’s Integrated Service Provider Contract.

The post holder should have client side / consultancy / consulting PM heavy construction experiences working with a Defence / military sectors

Qualifications

Chartered membership of a construction related institute (Desirable)

A formal qualification in a construction related discipline (Essential)

Relevant job experience

A track record in the delivery of complex projects as a consultant project Manager (Essential)

Experience of design management (Desirable)

Experience of working within the defence sectors (Desirable)

Experience of working abroad (Desirable)
