Location: Afghanistan
Salary: $6,000 per month + $8000 per annum bonus

Main Liaison:
Internal: Construction Project Manager, Project Managers and Trades personnel
External: Third Party Contractors, Sub-contractors, Contract Project Managers, Customers and/or end users including both Military and Civilian Officials as directed by the Construction Project Manager.
Prime Objective:
Coordinate, Assess and Inspect for compliance of company’s capital construction projects.
Key Tasks:
Evaluates, inspects and solves potential field construction problems referring them to the Construction Project Manager and / or General Manager Construction as required.
Project / Practice Management
Implements reviews and quality assurance assessment procedures in accordance with Company’s methodology,
Ensures the successful execution of consulting engagements / projects as measured by Company’s goals and customer satisfaction,
Minimizes exposure and risk across multiple projects,
Mitigates risk across projects,
Serves as participant in team and client meetings,
Assesses and mitigates issues openly and quickly,
Assists with client interaction and expectations for multiple or large scale projects,
Anticipates clients needs and proposed alternate business solutions.
Project Accounting:
Assists in addressing contract and payment issues as they arise.
Communications
Effectively communicates relevant project/practice information to superiors, peers, Contractors and subordinates,
Tactfully communicates sensitive information,
Prepares Reports and Evaluations for review by Project Managers.
Technical Understanding:
Assists in the evaluation and redesign of projects,
Possess a thorough understanding of the company’s Service Offerings and Technical Direction,
Internal Operations:
Provides expertise to internal / external teams and task forces.
Provides status reports to team members across projects and suggests resolutions to addresses issues appropriately.
Complies with and enforces company’s standard policies and procedures.
Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction.
Performs additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by Construction Project Managers.
Conducts field quality control activities in accordance with instructions, inspection programs, using specified control measuring and testing equipment.
Understands and performs document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures.
Provides technical engineering information to company employees and subcontractors to ensure project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
Attends and participates in project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as required,
Researches and recommends solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions,
Participates in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents, assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.

Participates in all programs relating to Construction / Contractor evaluations,
Reviews with Construction Managers, Construction Project Manager, General Manager Construction evaluations within practice for consistency,
Assists peer Construction Managers,
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
Engineering diploma or equivalent combinations of technical / trades training plus a minimum of five years construction experience.
Familiarity with applicable Building Codes and Inspection Techniques and Methodologies.
Working knowledge of general construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline.
Solid problem solving skills.
Preferable Skills:
Working Knowledge of Multiple Trades, procedures and standards,
Working knowledge of concrete forming and related works.
Understanding of military, civilian and in-country practices, processes, standards.
Previous experience of living and working in difficult conditions similar to what is encountered in Afghanistan.
Proficiency in computer systems, department software, and typing necessary.
Superior interpersonal skill, tact, diplomacy, influence etc. are essential.
Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others.
