Construction Cost Estimator Location: Norwich, United Kingdom Salary: Negotiable to the right candidate Job profile Our clients’ are a world class employee-owned management, engineering and development consultancy. Job description The role requires the support and development of their construction cost databases and industry recognised price books, reporting to the senior editor. The candidate will become part of the succession planning for the unit and take responsibility of the publications on the senior editor’s phased retirement. The role requires the continuing development of the price books and databases, along with the project management of the programme of the production and marketing of the publications. Over ‘mentored’ time the role will also require business development and negotiations to license the databases to software providers. The candidate should have good experience with construction cost estimating from first principles and a sound knowledge of SMM7 and CESMM methods of measurement, be highly motivated as an individual and able to work effectively as part of a team. Data and project management skills are desired but their commitment to training will ensure that any shortfalls are addressed over a scheduled development period. Candidate specification Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience: Construction cost estimating from first principles Essential competencies / skills: A sound understanding in estimating using first principle resources.
