Building Services Mechanical Engineer Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom Salary: Negotiable to the right candidate Job description The role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process. Principle functions include carrying out the mechanical design for the projects. The Mechanical Engineer shall carry out Heat loss and Heat gain calculation both by static and dynamic means. Establish the ventilation, heating and A/C layout together with all aspect of public health. Coordinate with the electrical design engineer and issue all information to allow electrical design to be completed. Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M&E service to them, as well as understanding the client brief. Write the specification for the project and establish the schedules for all equipment. Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings. Candidate specification Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills: HNC – MSc level in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. 8yrs industry experience gained with a contractor or consultant. Has an understanding of mechanical design engineering in a multidisciplinary environment. Experience and exposure to a range of design mechanical engineering solutions in a range of project types, i.e., buildings and infrastructure. Strong technical focus Ability to write and speak in English fluently. Strong IT skills ideally with AutoCAD experience Ability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required. Desirable qualifications, experience, competencies and skills: 12yrs industry experience gained with a contractor or consultant.
