Building Services Engineer Reading, Berkshire £30,000 to £45,000 P/A Plus Full Benefits Package (Dependant on Experience and qualifications) Our client working over 140 countries with 13,000 staff working in all sectors from transport, energy, buildings, water and the environment to health and education, industry and communications. The Reading office is multi-disciplinary and can provide services in Structures, Building Services, Water, Highways, Transportation, Project Management and Strategic Consultancy. The very wide client base includes public and private sector. Specialist areas include Defence, Education (Secondary, Further and Higher), Flood Risk and Traffic Impact Assessments and Technical Advisor Services. Many of the projects are of a "one-stop-shop" nature where the offices provides a complete service including all design and cost control. Due to rapidly expanding workload, we are now seeking a Mechanical and Electrical (Building Services) Engineer to join their Building Services team in the reading office. They have a good network of offices which helps provide a wide variety of projects for staff. Job description The role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process. • Principle functions include carrying out the Mechanical and Electrical design for the projects. • The Mechanical and Electrical Engineer shall carry various calculations both by static and dynamic means. • Establish all building services such as Electrical installations, ventilation, heating and A/C layout together with all aspect of public health. • Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M&E service to them, as well as understanding the client brief. • Write the specification for the project and establish the schedules for all equipment. • Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings. Candidate specification Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills: • HNC – Building Services / Mechanical / Electrical or equivalent qualification. • 6yrs industry experience gained with a contractor or consultant. • Has an understanding of mechanical and Electrical design engineering in a multidisciplinary environment. • Experience and exposure to a range of design Mechanical & Electrical engineering solutions in a range of project types, i.e., buildings and infrastructure. • Strong technical focus • Ability to write and speak in English fluently. • Strong IT skills ideally with AutoCAD experience • Ability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required.
