Business Development Manager- Vehicle Logistics Location: Leatherhead, Surrey Salary: £40,000p/a - £50,000p/a Our client are a leading global engineering, construction and services company, who support the energy, petrochemicals, government services and civil infrastructure sectors on 6 continents. They Service their customers through six diverse business units – Government and Infrastructure, Services, Upstream, Technology, Downstream and ventures – they offer challenging assignments on some of the worlds’ largest and most complex projects. The Role: Business Development Manager - Vehicle Logistics The post holder will be supporting Business Development in the Government and Defence sector. Please note a Background check is required for this role. The following shows the main tasks to be performed, but this role is capable of expansion so that the successful candidate will have exposure to many areas of the company, dependent upon business needs, candidate aptitude and career preference. Take the lead in developing complex products and services targeted at the Vehicle Logistic sector of the Defence market specifically, but also the wider Defence arena as required. Learn and adapt skills and techniques from other industry sectors into the Defence sector Support and transfer skills and knowledge into other related sectors Develop knowledge of the client and key supply chain organisations Develop relationships within the client and key supply chain organisations Developing marketing strategies and techniques to support business development within the sector The successful candidate will: Have a good working knowledge of equipment support and logistics in the transport industry and an in depth understanding of the MoD client organisation Have experience in developing and bringing to financial closure complex products and services that meet the exacting demands of clients Be a Technical graduate or equivalent in a relevant profession Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships easily Have a high degree of self motivation and professionalism Have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team to build networks Have good financial and commercial awareness Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of integrated logistics support in the military domain Good knowledge of the regulatory environment in the transport industry Knowledge of government / military procurement processes
