Each tour is 13 months. This usually means 6 months on, 1 month leave, 6 months on.
The salary band is £25k to £30k (plus 20% site uplift and 20% objective specific bonus at 13 and 27 months) dependant on experience, qualifications, and AP tickets etc.
Company Overview:
Our client a large International and UK based major construction and built environment organisation currently with many long term premier facilities management and property service contracts partnering with the Ministry of Defence.
Their contract in the Falklands is responsible for a variety of property management work as the principal contractor they are responsible for all refurbishment s,new builds, civil engineering, infrastructure and total facilities management on large airfields, industrial, commercial and residential MoD properties within the secure defence garrison.
Job Description
This position will centres on Refurbishments, Minor New Works and small sized Building Services Installation Projects. Assist with the management and implementation of plant operation, planned preventative maintenance, statutory tests and other inspections on military buildings, plant and equipment in the Falklands Islands
You could be running up to 60 or 70 small jobs (which maybe a mixture of basic Building Fabric & M&E Building Services) and 2 or 3 larger M&E projects. The small jobs could be as simple as changing a door or light bulb, but the larger ones are likely to be up to £250k.
You will oversee a mixed Electrical and Mechanical trades team including the painting team (9 painters and a supervisor) and program.
You will also have current or previous “Authorised Person” (AP) tickets for boilers and pressure systems and/or petroleum oil and lubricants.
