Associate/Divisional Director Tunnels and Geotechnical Location: Hong Kong, China Salary: Negotiable to the right candidate Job profile As an Associate/Divisional Director, this role will be responsible for the delivery and enhancement of design engineering capability to meet and exceed client’s expectations. Day-to-day responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Ensuring day-to-day successful delivery within challenging and demanding project environments. Lead multi-disciplinary teams on high value project requirements. Lead, manage and ensure delivery of Tunnel/Geotechnical Engineering projects and coordinate other engineering disciplines including, structural, environmental, mechanical and electrical engineers. Day-to-day client liaison Ensure client’s expectations are met and further enhance our clients’ business and business development opportunities. Responsible for project performance, delivery and timeframe execution Ensure that cost analysis, risk assessments and project controls are functional and managed effectively and successfully. Operate as project manager or/and mentor to other project managers as necessary. Ensure that team member’s careers and skills developments are being matched to expectations and sustained. There is likely to be international travel encompassed within this role which will vary depending on the project. This is a long-term career appointment with the potential to advance to more senior management positions with our client. Candidate specification Candidates will already be in possession of relevant academic qualifications, post-chartership Geotechnical/Tunnel Design Engineering experienced and able to demonstrate exceptional design engineering technical competences and project manager skills. Successful Candidates are likely to have the following characteristics: Good academic background with degree qualification (or equivalent), ideally in civil engineering or geology. A masters/PhD degree in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology related disciplines will benefit any applicant. Chartered status, ideally with 12+ years of post chartership experience and seeking to expand and maximise career opportunities. It is essential that the candidate is experienced in Tunnel/Geotechnical design engineering ideally working on multi-disciplinary rail/metro projects. Experience of working on multiple concurrent commissions, ideally within a consultancy environment. Capable of representing the company to clients professionally and with technical confidence.. Technical geotechnical/geological engineering skills at a high level Strong project management skills and experience. A background of successful business development and delivery. Be innovative looking to develop their technical and management skills and the willingness to tackle any challenge A ‘can do’ attitude with full awareness of team working and project checking and approval procedures.
