Due to the continued success of our clients’ Welwyn Garden City office, they are seeking a professional Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager with a “can do” attitude to enhance their high quality delivery teams. You will provide strategic cost management solutions to a range of blue chip clients operating within a range of sectors but with a strong bias towards retail. This associate’s position will have a particular focus on the provision of services for distribution centres for retail clients. The role will involve you to: - Deliver all aspects of cost management with a focus on innovative thinking to find the right solutions for their clients - Deliver strategic high level programme advice. - Manage projects in the range £3m to £100m. - Be a business developer by involving, nurturing and developing our existing clients and always be looking for the next opportunity...... You will report to a cost management partner in the Welwyn Garden City office and will be part of an integrated team working on a range of key accounts for the business. As well as technical expertise you will be responsible for the financial management of key accounts reporting to a partner and the national accounts team. You will also have the day to day management of a team of cost managers (including the mentoring of more junior staff and graduates) allocating resource to a variety of clients. The ideal candidate will: - Have previous experience of managing projects in excess of £10m+ in either retail distribution or industrial warehousing. - Be degree educated (QS preferred) or equivalent and will have MRICS status. - Have at least seven years cost management experience, with at least three years operating at a senior level within a consultancy or client side organisation. - Have exception client facing abilities and be able to liaise at the highest level within our clients’ organisations. - Be able to direct and influence their current team to challenge perceptions of cost management services to deliver industry leading solutions. - Be able to work on a number of projects at one time managing the clients and the team’s expectations. - Have previous experience of leading retail or fast track projects for industry leading blue chip clients. - Be a team player who is self motivated and looking for their next major long term career move with partnership and equity potential.
